Grevillea ‘New Blood’ is a fast growing, dense shrub which is grown for its spikes of exquisite, bright red, spider-like flowers. These are held abreast of the fine, mid-green foliage. The flowers are produced from winter through spring and are great for attracting nectar feeding birds. It typically grows to 30 cm tall and 1 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. This evergreen performs best when grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is frost hardy and tolerant of both dry periods and coastal environments. Grevillea ‘New Blood’ is commonly included in a border planting, mass planted either as a groundcover or on a bank, planted around outdoor living areas, or grown to attract birds. It is also great for providing winter colour and looks stunning when allowed to cascade over rocks, slopes, or walls.
