It carries glossy, green leaves which are held somewhat loosely on spreading stems. This groundcover Coprosma typically grows to 50 cm tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. Taupata is tolerant of coastal conditions, moderate frost, wind, and most soil conditions, except at the extremes of wet and dry.
