Scaevola 'Sunfan' (Fan Flower)

How to grow Scaevola 'Sunfan' (Fan Flower) in NZ

Scaevola 'Sunfan' (Fan Flower) grows best in full sun or partial shade with free draining soil. It performs particularly well in warm areas of New Zealand where it receives plenty of sunlight and airflow. Water regularly during establishment, then reduce watering once the plant is settled as it tolerates dry conditions well. Adding compost or organic matter to the soil at planting time helps encourage healthy root growth and improved flowering. This variety is excellent for pots, baskets, and garden beds where the trailing stems can spread naturally.

Scaevola 'Sunfan' (Fan Flower) care tips

Scaevola 'Sunfan' (Fan Flower) is easy to care for and flowers continuously with minimal maintenance. Trim lightly during the growing season to encourage compact growth and fresh blooms. Remove spent flowers and damaged stems to keep plants looking tidy and healthy. Feed with a balanced fertiliser every few weeks during spring and summer to support strong flowering performance. While this variety tolerates dry conditions once established, occasional deep watering during extended hot periods helps maintain vigorous growth and abundant flowering throughout the warmer months.

Scaevola 'Sunfan' (Fan Flower) size, spacing, and growth rate

Scaevola 'Sunfan' (Fan Flower) is a fast growing trailing plant that typically reaches around 20 to 30 centimetres tall and spreads up to 60 centimetres wide.
