Sagina subulata, commonly known as Irish Moss or Scotch Moss, is a popular ground cover plant. This herbaceous perennial forms a moss-like carpet of bright green foliage and hugs the soil as it grows to just 5 cm tall and 60 cm wide. Tiny, white flowers appear in late spring. This plant performs best when grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site and is tolerant of mild frost once established.
