Lithodora diffusa Grace Ward is a low growing, herbaceous perennial that features impressive flowering. This popular plant grows as a mat of small, dark green leaves with a soft looking appearance. It bears masses of small and trumpet shaped, blue flowers from spring through autumn. It typically grows to 30 cm tall and 1 m wide, growing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of light frost once established but intolerant of heavy or soils that are continuously wet. Lithodora Grace Ward makes an excellent groundcover and is commonly used to trail over walls, planted around large rocks, used in borders, planted around pool areas, or included in cottage gardens.
