Lithodora diffusa Heavenly Blue (aka Glandora prostrata), commonly known as Purple Gromwell, is a small shrub grown for its fabulous flowers and foliage. It produces small, bright blue flowers through summer which are complemented with dense, dark green foliage. It typically grows to 20 cm tall and 60 cm wide, performing best when grow in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It will tolerate coastal environments and moderate frost. Lithodora Heavenly Blue makes for a lovely groundcover or border plant and is also commonly maintained in a container. This is a great plant for cottage gardens or for planting around outdoor living areas.
