Juniperus Depressed Star, commonly known as the Irish Juniper tree, is a lovely, small, conifer which is often used as a groundcover. It features fine, bright green, needle like foliage which develop bronze-green tones during winter. It typically grows to 30 cm tall and 1.2 m wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. It is tolerant of dry conditions but not of prolonged wet soils. It is also tolerant of coastal environments and cold conditions. Juniperus Depressed Star makes for an attractive groundcover and is often planted beside steps or a path where it can spill over.
