Juniperus Blue Cloud is commonly used as a groundcover, allowed to spill over the side of a wall or across steps, or planted around the base of larger trees.

Juniperus Blue Cloud, commonly known as the Virginian Juniper, is a low growing conifer often used as a groundcover. It features fine, blue-grey, needle-like foliage held densely on prostrate branches. It typically grows to 1 m tall and 2.5 m wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, moderate wind, coastal conditions, and dry periods but will not cope with heavy or wet soils. Juniperus Blue Cloud is commonly used as a groundcover, allowed to spill over the side of a wall or across steps, or planted around the base of larger trees.
