Hypericum calycinum, commonly called St. Johns Wort, is a shrub grown as an attractive ground cover. It carries mid green leaves which become adorned with yellow flowers during spring and summer as it grows to 40 cm tall and 60 cm wide. Hypericum calycinum is commonly used as a groundcover, added to rock gardens, planted around the base of larger trees, or included in borders. A mass planting, particularly on a bank, looks spectacular.

Hypericum calycinum, commonly called St. Johns Wort, is a shrub grown as an attractive ground cover. It carries mid green leaves which become adorned with yellow flowers during spring and summer. It typically grows to 40 cm tall and 60 cm wide, growing best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry soil conditions as well as coastal climates though young plants should be protected from frost and strong winds. Hypericum calycinum is commonly used as a groundcover, added to rock gardens, planted around the base of larger trees, or included in borders. A mass planting, particularly on a bank, looks spectacular.
