Cotoneaster microphyllus is very low maintenance once established. Water during extended dry periods and apply a general fertiliser in spring if desired. Pruning can be carried out to control spread or tidy the plant. It is a hardy and resilient choice for low maintenance gardens.

Cotoneaster microphyllus size, spacing, and growth rate

Cotoneaster microphyllus typically grows to around 30 to 60 centimetres in height and spreads to 1.5 to 2 metres wide. Space plants about 1 to 1.5 metres apart. It has a moderate growth rate and forms a dense groundcover over time.

Landscaping uses for Cotoneaster microphyllus
