How to grow Convolvulus 'Two Moons' successfully in NZ

To grow Convolvulus 'Two Moons' successfully in New Zealand, choose a sunny spot with well-drained soil. This hardy groundcover thrives in dry, exposed, and coastal conditions, making it perfect for rockeries, slopes, or pots. Avoid overwatering and ensure good air circulation to prevent fungal issues. Light pruning after flowering encourages compact growth. It’s tolerant of poor soils and requires minimal feeding. Plant in spring or autumn for best establishment and enjoy its resilience and vibrant blooms.

Convolvulus 'Two Moons' care tips

Convolvulus 'Two Moons' is easy to care for. Plant it in full sun with free draining soil and water sparingly once established. It is drought and coastal tolerant, making it great for tough spots. Prune lightly after flowering to keep it tidy and promote more blooms. A light feed in spring can help if growth slows, and mulching around (but not against) the base helps suppress weeds and retain moisture.

Plant Size and Spacing

Convolvulus 'Two Moons' typically grows to 20 cm tall and spreads up to 80 cm wide. Space plants about 60 to 80 cm apart to allow for good coverage and airflow. This low-spreading habit makes it ideal for ground cover, edging, or trailing over walls and containers.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about Convolvulus Two Moons? We are here to help.

I’m wanting to ground cover a large bank area, approx 200m X 10m,, which is currently weedy grass that has been cut back with the weed eater. Do I now kill off all the grass and then plant? Looking at getting the convovules two moons. How many plants will I need please?

Definitely kill off the grass. I recommend doing this, then putting down weedmat and mulch before planting. Work on the plants growing to cover about 1m2 each. So you may be looking at 1500-2000 plants given the size of area you want to cover.

When do you expect to have these back in stock. We are wanting approx 7
