Banksia Roller Coaster is a low-growing shrub that is favoured for its foliage and flowers. It produces yellow flower spikes up to 20 cm long from winter through until summer. These are not only interesting but are great for attracting birds. The dark green leaves serve as a pleasant backdrop to the flowers. It typically grows to 30 cm tall and 3 m wide, though can be trimmed as necessary. This evergreen performs best when grown in full sun on a well-drained site, and is tolerant of coastal environments, dry periods, and frost. Banksia integrifolia Roller Coaster is commonly included in mixed plantings, used as a groundcover, planted to attract birds, or used anywhere a hardy and attractive plant is required. It looks amazing when allowed to spill over a wall or when mass planted on a bank.
