Ajuga reptans ‘Purpurea’ is a bold, low-growing groundcover with rich bronze-purple foliage and vibrant blue flower spikes in spring. Reaching 10–15 cm tall and spreading up to 60 cm wide, it forms a dense mat ideal for underplanting, borders, or shady garden areas. It thrives in full sun to part shade and moist, well-drained soil. Hardy and low-maintenance, ‘Purpurea’ adds strong foliage contrast and seasonal colour to New Zealand gardens with minimal care.
