Ajuga Purple Torch

Ajuga Purple Torch is grown for its pretty flowers and impressive foliage. This evergreen plant forms a spreading mound of glossy, dark green and purple leaves. Through spring and summer, this Bugleweed produces spikes of pretty, pink flowers which are held neatly above the foliage. It typically grows to about 20 cm tall and will spread up to 80 cm wide. This Carpet Bugle requires a well-drained site with good summer moisture to perform. It is frost hardy, tolerant of coastal environments, and can be grown in full sun or partial shade. Ajuga Purple Torch is commonly used as a groundcover, planted around outdoor living areas, maintained in a container, or used to transform a shady area. A mass planting produces a very rewarding display with Ajuga plants.
