Uncinia Ruapehu, commonly known as the Red Hook Sedge Grass or Uncinia Grass, is a NZ native, ornamental grass that features fine, red foliage. The striking leaves are held with a gentle arch. It typically grows to 30 cm high and 35 cm wide, preferring a full sun position with good drainage and reliable moisture. Leaf colouring will be more intense when it is positioned in full sun even though it will also grow well with moderate shade. It makes for an impressive contrast when used with other plant colours and a mass planting looks spectacular.

Uncinia Ruapehu, commonly known as the Red Hook Sedge Grass or Uncinia Grass, is a NZ native, ornamental grass that features fine, red foliage. The striking leaves are held with a gentle arch. It typically grows to 30 cm high and 35 cm wide, preferring a full sun position with good drainage and reliable moisture. Leaf colouring will be more intense when it is positioned in full sun even though it will also grow well with moderate shade. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, short periods of dry, coastal conditions, and wind. The stunning appearance of Uncinia Ruapehu makes it ideal for growing in a container, adding to a mixed planting, including in borders, or using in rock gardens. It makes for an impressive contrast when used with other plant colours and a mass planting looks spectacular.
