Streaked Arrowgrass
Triglochin striata, commonly known as Streaked Arrowgrass, is a native New Zealand wetland plant growing up to 50 cm tall. It features slender, grass-like leaves with distinctive longitudinal stripes and produces small, greenish flowers on erect spikes in summer. Thriving in damp, saline, or freshwater habitats such as salt marshes and estuaries, Triglochin striata is excellent for stabilising wet soils and preventing erosion. Its tolerance to varying moisture and salt levels makes it valuable for coastal restoration and naturalistic planting schemes across New Zealand’s wetland environments.
