Scleranthus uniflorus

Scleranthus uniflorus, commonly known as New Zealand Moss, is a NZ native that forms a dense cushion of moss like growth. It is a popular landscaping plant because of the light green-yellow colouring and the soft looking foliage which comprises miniature, needle like leaves. It typically grows to just 5 cm tall but can spread to 60 cm wide. Scleranthus uniflorus is commonly used in rock or gravel gardens where it can grow amongst the rocks. It is also well suited to Japanese styled gardens, or for growing in a container.
