How to grow Schoenoplectus pungens in NZ

Plant in shallow water or wet soils in full sun to light shade. It grows well in a range of conditions, including tidal estuaries, lake margins, and constructed wetlands. Ideal planting depth is 5–20 cm of water above the crown. Once established, it tolerates fluctuating water levels and seasonal flooding. Minimal maintenance is required, and it will readily spread to form dense stands.
