Festuca Shades of Blue, commonly known as Blue Fescue, is a hardy and highly ornamental, blue grass. It features fine and slender, blue foliage and grows as a rounded tuft to about 25 cm tall and the same wide. Feathery, light green flowers with a purple tinge rise above the foliage from spring through summer and age to brown. Festuca Shades of Blue is commonly used in borders and rock gardens where its blue colouring adds a lovely touch. A mass planting will give a stunning display and it looks great in a pot.

Festuca Shades of Blue Details

Festuca Shades of Blue, commonly known as Blue Fescue, is a hardy and highly ornamental, blue grass. It features fine and slender, blue foliage and grows as a rounded tuft to about 25 cm tall and the same wide. Feathery, light green flowers with a purple tinge rise above the foliage from spring through summer and age to brown. Best results with this plant are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate dry periods, frost, cool climates, and wind and generally needs little in the way of maintenance. Festuca Shades of Blue is commonly used in borders and rock gardens where its blue colouring adds a lovely touch. A mass planting will give a stunning display and it looks great in a pot.
