Festuca actae is a small blue tussock grass with fine, rolled foliage. Plants produce an erect flower stem which can reach 75 cm tall. The tussock itself will grow about 40 cm high and wide. This grass prefers to grow in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It will generally survive in almost any garden situation, including frost, wind, and coastal environments, but conditions of continuous wet should be avoided.
