Cyperus papyrus, commonly known as the Umbrella Papyrus is a perennial grass that grows with a graceful habit and has long, bright green leaves. It carries unusual looking heads of umbrella-like flowers through summer as it grows to about 70 cm tall and 50 cm wide. Cyperus papyrus is commonly planted beside pools or streams, in shallow water, added to tropical gardens, grown in a container, planted beneath larger shrubs, or mass planted for a lovely display.
