Chionochloa rigida is a large Snow Tussock grass with slender, tawny-green foliage and graceful flower panicles in summer. It grows to 1 m tall and wide in full sun on a well-drained site. Chionochloa rigida is hardy and is often planted alongside water features, mass planted on a bank, included in rock gardens, or used to line a walkway or driveway. Snow Tussock is the perfect plant for alpine themed gardens.
