Austrostipa stipoides care

Austrostipa stipoides thrives in full sun and is highly tolerant of wind, salt spray, drought, and poor soils, making it ideal for coastal gardens and erosion control on sandy or rocky sites. It prefers well-drained soil and does not require fertiliser or rich conditions to grow well. This low-maintenance grass forms dense, arching tussocks of narrow, upright foliage with a silvery-green hue, providing year-round texture and movement in the landscape. It can be trimmed back in late winter or early spring to rejuvenate older foliage and maintain a tidy appearance. Plant it en masse for ground cover or use it as a feature in native or coastal plantings. Austrostipa stipoides is a resilient and attractive choice for sustainable, low-input landscaping.
