Pinot Gris Grape Vine

The Pinot Gris grape vine produces grapes that are popular for wine but also are great for eating fresh. It features medium sized, purple-pink berries that are full of juice. These ripen in autumn. This deciduous vine carries large, mid-green leaves which develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. It requires a trellis or fence for support and if left untrimmed, it will grow to about 3 m tall. It grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site and it is tolerant of frost and cold environments. The Pinot Gris grape vine is commonly grown for its fruit, planted to attract birds, or trained on a support structure as an attractive feature.
