Grape Himrod is a variety of eating grape that produces tasty fruit in summer. The green berries are seedless, sweet and juicy, and have a honey-like flavour. This deciduous vine carries large, mid-green leaves which develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. Grape Himrod is commonly grown for fruit production, planted to attract birds, or trained on a support structure such as a pergola as an attractive feature.

Himrod

Himrod is a variety of eating grape that produces tasty fruit in summer. The green berries are seedless, sweet and juicy, and have a honey-like flavour. This deciduous vine carries large, mid-green leaves which develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. It requires a trellis or fence for support, and if left untrimmed, it will grow to about 5 m tall. It is often cut right back each winter with about 90% of the previous seasons’ growth removed. This variety grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and it is tolerant of frost and cool climates. Himrod is commonly grown for fruit production, planted to attract birds, or trained on a support structure such as a pergola as an attractive feature.
