Alphonse Lavelle Grape

The Alphonse Lavelle Grape is a variety of eating grape that ripens towards the end of autumn. It features large and medium sized, purple-black berries that have a lovely taste. This deciduous vine carries large, mid-green leaves which develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. It requires a trellis or fence for support and if left untrimmed, it will grow to about 5 m tall. It grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site and it is tolerant of frost and cold environments.
