Pear Louise Bon Jersey Details

The pear Louise Bon Jersey is grown for its tasty, medium sized fruit. The smooth, green skinned fruit are blushed with bronze-red and ripen in summer. They are held amidst the fresh, green foliage which develops yellow tones in autumn before falling. This variety does require another cultivar planted nearby such as Winter Nelis or Conference to aid pollination and produce good yields. It typically grows to 5 m tall and 4 m wide, but can be trimmed as necessary. Best yields with this variety are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained site that is sheltered and does not dry out. It is tolerant of cool climates and frost, though late frosts in spring will reduce the yield. Pear Louise Bon Jersey is commonly grown for fruit production, included into a mixed planting, or grown as a specimen.
