Peacherine Healys

A Peacherine is a cross between a peach and a nectarine. “Healys” is a variety of that cross that produces good yields of medium sized, smooth skinned, golden fruit with flesh that is sweet and juicy. These ripen late summer. It grows as an upright tree and bears lush, green foliage with the leaves developing yellow tones in autumn before falling. This deciduous tree typically reaches 5 m tall and 3 m wide, but can be trimmed as necessary. Best yields with this variety are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered, fertile site, with good soil moisture during dry periods. It is tolerant of cold climates and frost, though late frosts in spring will reduce the yield. “Healys” is often added to a mixed planting, grown as a specimen, or planted specifically for fruit production. NB: This variety will produce fruit without the need for another (pollinator) variety planted nearby.
