Olive Leccino Details

Olea Leccino is a variety of Olive tree grown for its high-quality fruit. The medium-sized, dark purple-black fruit have a distinct, sweet taste and can be squeezed to make a rich and tasty oil or eaten fresh. The fruit originate from white-cream flowers in summer. NB: For best fruiting we recommend another Olive variety be planted nearby to aid pollination. The foliage comprises grey-green leaves held on slender branches that have a gentle arch. This evergreen tree typically grows to 3 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of extended dry periods, moderate frost, and cool climates, and some wind, though will benefit from protection while establishing. Olea Leccino is one of the more popular olive tree varieties and is often grown for fruit production. For an Olea Leccino hedge, space the trees 75 cm to 1 m apart.
