'Golden Queen' Peach

How to grow 'Golden Queen' peach trees

Plant 'Golden Queen' peach trees in a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil. Choose a location with good air circulation to help reduce disease risk, particularly leaf curl. Space trees 3–4 metres apart to allow for mature growth. Water regularly during the first year, then only in dry periods. Apply mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune annually in winter to maintain an open structure and promote fruiting. Fertilise in early spring for best growth and yields.

'Golden Queen' peach tree care

'Golden Queen' peach trees need regular care to produce high-quality fruit. Water deeply during dry spells, especially while fruit is forming. Prune in late winter to maintain an open, vase-like shape that improves airflow and sun exposure. Apply a balanced fertiliser in early spring to support healthy growth and fruiting. Mulch annually to conserve moisture and reduce weeds. Watch for signs of leaf curl and treat just before budburst.

'Golden Queen' Peach size, spacing, and growth rate

'Golden Queen' Peach typically reaches about 4 m tall and 3 m wide in suitable conditions. Allow about 3 m between centres for separate specimens, leaving room for mature foliage and good airflow. It has a moderate growth rate under suitable conditions. Use the mature spread as a guide when planting beside paths, walls, or neighbouring plants. Containers can limit overall size, so choose a pot that supports healthy root development. Check the developing plant regularly and adjust surrounding planting as needed.

Landscaping uses for 'Golden Queen' Peach

Use 'Golden Queen' Peach for home orchards, edible gardens, and productive feature planting. Position it where its natural form can be appreciated and allow sufficient space for mature growth.
