Fig 'Vlassoff'

How to grow Fig 'Vlassoff' in NZ

Fig 'Vlassoff' grows best in full sun with well drained soil. Choose a warm sheltered position to maximise fruit production especially in cooler parts of New Zealand. Water regularly during establishment then reduce watering once the tree is settled. Avoid poorly drained soils as figs prefer drier conditions. Adding organic matter at planting will support strong root development and long term growth.

Protect young trees from frost to ensure strong establishment and performance.
