Feijoa sellowiana
Feijoa sellowiana is a standout choice for New Zealand gardens. Feijoa sellowiana, commonly known as Brazilian Guava or Pineapple Guava, is one of the original Feijoa varieties from which many of the new varieties have been bred. This late season producer bears fruit in autumn which are of medium size and very tasty. This evergreen shrub typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide but is often trimmed to smaller sizes. Feijoa sellowiana is commonly grown for fruit production, trimmed into a hedge, used for screening, or added to a mixed planting. We recommend planting at least two varieties to provide for a longer period of fruiting and to ensure better pollination.
