Feijoa Gemini Details

Feijoa Gemini is an early maturing variety of Feijoa that produces small to medium sized fruit with a smooth skin in autumn. The flesh is sweet and juicy with a great flavour. The fruit result from bright red flowers in summer which are set amidst the dark green leaves. This evergreen shrub typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide but is often trimmed to smaller sizes. It performs best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, fertile site. Sites prone to heavy frost should be avoided, particularly during establishment. It is tolerant of coastal environments, dry periods, and some wind. Feijoa Gemini is commonly grown for fruit production, trimmed into a hedge, used for screening, or added to a mixed planting. The Plant Company recommends planting at least two varieties of Feijoa to extend the fruiting season and produce higher yields overall.
