Cherry ‘Tangshi’
The Cherry 'Tangshi' produces medium sized, red fruit in summer. The flesh is yellow with a sharp taste and often used for cooking. It does not require another variety planted alongside to set fruit. It grows as an upright tree to about 3m tall and 2 m wide with best performance achieved when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. Cherries require a cold winter to set fruit, hence they are less suited to regions where winters tend to be mild. 'Tangshi' is commonly used for fruit production and makes an attractive, deciduous tree in its own right.
