Cherry ‘Griotella Frumi’

The Cherry 'Griotella Frumi' produces bright red fruit in summer. The flesh is also red with a sharp, sour taste, and often used for cooking. It does not require another variety planted alongside to set fruit. It grows as a compact, upright tree to about 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide. Best performance is achieved when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. Cherries require a cold winter to set fruit, hence they are less suited to regions where winters tend to be mild. 'Griotella Frumi' is commonly used for fruit production and makes an attractive, deciduous tree in its own right.
