Avocado Esther is a variety grown for its high yields of tasty, medium sized fruit from spring through summer. The glossy, green-black skinned fruit have flesh that is green-yellow, creamy, and with a rich flavour. The large leaves are green and leathery. It typically grows to 4 m tall and 3 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. It is recommended that another variety, e.g., Hass or Reed is planted nearby to aid pollination and produce better yields. Best performance with this variety is achieved when planted on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun and protected from frost. Avocado Esther is commonly used for fruit production or grown as an impressive specimen in a large garden.
