The Kingston Black Apple tree bears medium sized fruit in autumn that are purple with a green hue and have flesh with a sharp and bitter taste. They fruit are sometimes used for cooking but more used for making cider. This deciduous tree typically grows to 3.5 m tall and 2.5 m wide. It is self-pollinating and so does not require another apple variety planted close by to set fruit. The Kingston Black Apple tree is commonly planted for fruit production, added to a mixed planting, or maintained in a courtyard garden.

Apple Kingston Black Details

The Kingston Black Apple tree bears medium sized fruit in autumn that are purple with a green hue and have flesh with a sharp and bitter taste. They fruit are sometimes used for cooking but more used for making cider. This deciduous tree typically grows to 3.5 m tall and 2.5 m wide. It is self-pollinating and so does not require another apple variety planted close by to set fruit. Best results are achieved with this tree when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site.
