The Kentish Fillbasket apple variety bears large sized fruit in autumn that are dark red with orange stripes and have flesh that is crisp with a slight tart flavour. They are commonly used for cooking. This deciduous tree typically grows to 3.5 m tall and 2.5 m wide. It is self-pollinating and so does not require another apple variety planted close by to set fruit. Best results are achieved with this tree when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. The Kentish Fillbasket apple is commonly planted for fruit production, added to a mixed planting, or maintained in a courtyard garden.
