Apple Fuji Details

The Fuji Apple variety is very popular due to fantastic fruit in autumn. The fruit are red with an orange blush and has flesh that is sweet, juicy, and very tasty. The M9 rootstock keeps this deciduous tree to about 3 m tall and 2.5 m wide, though it can be trimmed as necessary. It is self-pollinating and so does not require another apple variety planted close by to produce fruit. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, though a late frost in spring can reduce yields. It is not suited to sub-tropical climates. The Fuji is commonly planted for fruit production, included in a mixed planting, or maintained in a courtyard garden.
