Apple Freyberg Details

The Freyberg Apple is a variety thar bears good sized fruit in autumn which are pale yellow with cream-coloured flesh that is sweet, crisp, and tasty. This deciduous tree typically grows to 3.5 m tall and 3 m wide and is self-pollinating and so does not require another apple variety planted close by to produce fruit. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, though a late frost in spring can reduce yields. It is not suited to sub-tropical climates. The Freyberg Apple is commonly planted for fruit production, included in a mixed planting, or maintained in a courtyard garden.
