Apple Ellison's Orange Details

The Ellison’s Orange apple tree bears fruit that ripen in late summer. The fruit are green with an orange flush and have flesh that is soft and very juicy. They are great for eating fresh but more commonly used as a dessert fruit. This deciduous tree typically grows to 3.5 m tall and 2.7 m wide though the ultimate size will depend on the rootstock it is grown on. It is self-pollinating and so does not require another apple variety planted close by to set fruit. Best results are achieved with this tree when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. The Ellison’s Orange apple tree is commonly planted for fruit production, grown as a specimen, or added to a mixed planting.
