The Discovery Apple tree bears fruit that rose red and flushed with green. The flesh is crisp and juicy with a sharp taste but they become sweeter the longer fruit are held on the tree. They are great for eating fresh. This deciduous tree typically grows to 3.5 m tall and 3 m wide. It is self-pollinating and so does not require another apple variety planted close by to set fruit. Best results are achieved with this tree when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. Malus Discovery is commonly planted for fruit production, added to a mixed planting, or maintained in a courtyard garden.
