Apple Bramley's Details

The Bramley Seedling apple tree bears large sized fruit in autumn that are red with a green blush and are somewhat flattish in shape. The flesh is juicy, very flavoursome, and is ideal for both cooking and eating fresh. The M9 rootstock keeps this deciduous tree to about 3 m tall and 2.5 m wide, though it can be trimmed as necessary. It is self-pollinating and so does not require another apple variety planted close by to produce fruit. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, though a late frost in spring can reduce yields. The Bramley’s Apple tree is commonly planted for fruit production, included in a mixed planting, or maintained in a courtyard garden.
