“Bearss” is a variety of the commonly known, Tahitian Lime, and produces an abundance of fruit in winter and again in summer. It is a popular variety because of its thin skin, lack of seeds, and juicy pulp. The fruit are pale green-yellow when mature and have that typical lime flavour. This heavy cropping, evergreen shrub typically grows to 3 m tall and the same wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this variety is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, protected from heavy frost, though it will generally tolerate moderate frost once established. This popular variety is commonly included in a mixed planting or maintained either in a container or in a courtyard garden.
