“Valencia” is a top eating variety of Orange with fruit produced through winter. The fruit are tender, juicy, have few seeds, and of very high quality. Yields are consistent and high which is also why it is grown commercially and for juice production. It typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site that is slightly acidic and well-sheltered. It will tolerate moderate frost as well as short periods of dry but should be protected while it establishes. This variety is well suited to the home garden and is commonly grown for fruit production, added to a mixed planting, maintained in a container, grown as an informal hedge, added to a courtyard garden, planted around outdoor living areas, or grown as a specimen.
