“Navel” is a variety of Orange renowned for its juicy and sweetly flavoured fruit. These ripen in winter, are virtually seedless, are easy to peel, and are finely textured. The fruit are set amidst the dark green foliage. It typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, protected from heavy frost. It will generally tolerate moderate frost once established. This popular variety is commonly included in a mixed planting, grown as an informal hedge, or maintained either in a container or in a courtyard garden.
