“Candice” is a popular variety of eating grape that produces fruit that ripen in late summer. It features medium sized, juicy, seedless, red-pink berries with a thin skin. Birds love the fruit and will come from far and wide to feast if they are not protected. It grows as a deciduous vine, carrying lush, mid-green leaves which develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. It is generally trained onto a support structure and pruned right back each year. Left untrimmed it will easily grow to 5 m in length. This variety grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and dry periods once established. “Candice” is commonly trained onto a fence or trellis for fruit production or as an attractive climber.
