Feijoa Golden Goose Details

Feijoa Golden Goose is a variety of Feijoa that produces some of the largest fruit available through autumn. The extra-large fruit have white flesh is slightly acidic with a nice flavour and surrounded by a thick golden-green skin. The fruit result from bright red flowers in summer which are set amidst the dark green leaves. This evergreen shrub typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, fertile site. Sites prone to heavy frost should be avoided, particularly during establishment. It is tolerant of coastal environments and moderate wind. Feijoa Golden Goose is commonly grown for fruit production, trimmed into a hedge, used for screening, or added into a mixed planting. The Plant Company recommends planting at least two varieties of Feijoa to extend the fruiting season and produce higher yields overall.
