Feijoa Bambina is a dwarf variety of Feijoa that has a thin, edible skin. The flesh is sweet and bursting with flavour. The fruit result from bright red flowers in summer which are set amidst the dark green leaves. This evergreen shrub typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide and can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, fertile, sheltered site, and is tolerant of coastal environments, some wind, and moderate frost once established. Feijoa Bambina is commonly grown specifically for fruit production, trimmed into a hedge, added to a mixed planting, included in cottage gardens, or maintained in a container. The Plant Company recommends planting at least two varieties of Feijoa to extend the fruiting season.
