Feijoa ‘Arhart’ is a variety that produces large fruit in late autumn. The sweet and tasty fruit result from small, bright red flowers in summer which are produced amidst the lush, dark green foliage. This evergreen shrub typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide but can be trimmed to smaller sizes as required. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained, semi-fertile site. It is tolerant of coastal environments, dry periods, some wind, and moderate frost once established. Feijoa ‘Arhart’ is commonly grown for fruit production, trimmed into a hedge, used for screening, or added to a mixed planting. The Plant Company recommends planting at least two varieties to give a longer fruiting season and better fruit yields overall.
